The Chicago Cubs have made another big offseason acquisition, signing free-agent pitcher John Lester to a six year deal.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting the deal is worth $155 million.

In 32 starts with the Boston Red Sox and Oakland A's last season, Lester went 16-11 with a 2.46 ERA.

The Cubs made headlines last month with the signing of manager Joe Maddon, and have also traded for catcher Miguel Montero from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The 31 year old hit .243 with 13 homers and 72 RBI last season.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas odds makers have increased the Cubs' chances of winning the 2015 World Series to 12-1.
