Cuomo Takes Action To Expand Access To Voter Registration
Governor Andrew Cuomo is taking executive action to expand access to voter registration in New York.
Cuomo is directing all state agencies to make voter registration forms available and to offer assistance in filling them out.
He's also ordering SUNY and CUNY to take steps to increase rates of student registration.
And the governor is directing the state DMV to promote online voter registration in all renewal e-mails.
"It is our responsibility to make it as easy as possible for people to vote because that's what democracy looks like," Governor Cuomo said.
Earlier this year, Cuomo proposed "The Democracy Project", a comprehensive package of legislation to further modernize and reform New York's voting system.
