DNA Evidence Leads To Robbery Arrest Of New Hartford Man
A New Hartford man is facing Burglary charges stemming from an incident on December 27th, 2018.
New Hartford Police say, they responded to a local convenience store for a report of an attempted Robbery.
A store employee informed police an unknown white male entered the store and demanded cash from the register.
The man displayed a knife after the employee refused and he attempted to force the register open.
His attempts failed and he then fled on foot. Police were able to recover numerous pieces of evidence, which were sent for DNA testing.
The DNA matched that of 25-year-old Vadim Mikhalevich which was on file from a previous conviction.
Police say, Mikhalevich allegedly stole property from a patron at another convenience store during an incident on September 6th, 2019.
Mikhalevich was ultimately arrested and is facing several charges including Robbery and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
He was remanded to Oneida County Jail in lieu of bail.
