DOT Travel Advisory For Route 28 in Newport

The State Department of Transportation is announcing a travel advisory on route 28 in the Town of Newport.

Staring tomorrow, through Wednesday, drivers may experience a short term traffic stoppage between 7 a.m. and noon.

Pre-cast concrete beams will be delivered onto the existing bridge where they will be picked and set in place on the new bridge.

The DOT wants to remind drivers that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
