The driver in a rollover crash is under arrest for alleged DWI.

At approximately 7:30pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 Utica Police responded to an accident on Genesee and Meeker Streets.

In a written post the UPD states officers interviewed the driver who said that ice forced his car to slide and then hit a road sign.  His car then became airborne, rolling over when it hit the ground.

Officers assigned to the STOP DWI program then conducted an investigation and learned that the blood alcohol concentration of the driver, identified as 33-year-old Kevin Baker of State Route 51 in Ilion, was allegedly point one four percent (.14%).

Baker was subsequently charged with:

  •  two counts of DWI (misdemeanor)
  •  failure to submit to a breath test (violation)

Baker will answer the charges during a future court appearance.
