Reston, VA (WIBX) - The United States Geological Survey is confirming that a magnitude 4.3 earthquake was felt in parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia just after noon.

The epicenter was located at: 37.135°N 82.978°W depth=1.1km (0.7mi) in the Appalachian Mountains near the Virginia border.  Louisville, Kentucky appears to have felt most of the earthquake's force.  However, residents as far away as Cincinnati, Ohio and Atlanta, Georgia reported feeling the earthquake as well.

An earthquake of this magnitude is considered by geologists to be relatively mild and   no injuries or serious damages have been reported.
