Elmira College To Reduce Tuition

ELMIRA, N.Y. (AP) — Elmira College says it will decrease its tuition by 15 percent next school year.

The private Southern Tier college announced Monday it will "reset" its tuition and fees to $35,400 for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Elmira joins a number of colleges adjusting tuition costs amid rising higher education costs.

The liberal arts college said it wanted to move away from a "high-tuition/high-discount" model to one more affordable to students.

The reset tuition base will be equal to what Elmira College charged in 2011-2012.
