Utica, NY (WIBX) - There's a possible end in sight for unionized Verizon workers tangled in a more than year long contract dispute with their employer. A source with knowledge of the developments, who asked not to be named, says workers are hearing from national leaders that a tentative agreement may have been reached. We spoke to several Verizon workers and members of CWA Local 1126.

Here's what they had to say:

The workers say they were prepared for the company to push for them to start contributing more to their healthcare coverage, but say the additional cost will be off-set through pay raises.

A meeting is planned for Thursday, (9/27) to discuss the details of the tentative agreement and process of ratification. The Union's 50-year-old contract with Verizon expired August 2011. A disagreement was born when the company pushed for a new contract, rather than renew the long standing one it had with the Union.
