Fastrac Shoplifter Threatens K9 Cop And Evades Taser But Is Eventually Caught By Utica Police
Utica, NY (WIBX) - A man armed with a knife and attempting to rob the Fastrac on Genesee Street was chased by police as he made his way to the Pines Nursing Home on Butterfield Avenue in Utica.
The robbery happened shortly after 2:00am Tuesday morning.
Police shot a Taser at him but were unsuccessful bringing down 38-year old Willie Cull, Jr. As officers yelled at him to drop the knife he threatened them. Again they tried to shoot him with a Taser. When K-9 police arrived Cull threatened to kill the police dog while waving his knife at the officers.
He eventually threw a flower pot at a police car, damaging it, and told police that they would have to shoot him. Utica Police were finally able to disarm arm and arrest him.
He is being charged with ten counts of felonious menacing of a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, and larceny.
