A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and two cars has claimed the life of a Marcy woman.

The intersection of State Route 5 and Middle Settlement Road was closed for hours after an accident which occurred on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at about 4:18pm.

New Hartford Police say a car driven on State Route 5 by 20-year old Nathan C. Dugan allegedly hit a motorcycle driven by 51-year old Lisa Lloyd-Amuso from Marcy, New York.  Lloyd-Amuso had been travelling north on Middle Settlement Road when she attempted to turn at the intersection.

The impact of Dugan's car hitting the motorcycle caused the bike to hit a second car that was stopped at the intersection.  The driver of that car, 25-year old Samantha A. Corrigan, was reported to be fine.

The driver of the first car, Dugan, suffered what police say were minor injuries to his hand.  Amuso's injuries were fatal.  She was pronounced dead a short time after the crash.

Accident reconstruction teams worked until approximately 8:30pm.  Authorities say it is still too early to determine the precise cause of the crash.  Police are asking anyone who may have witnesses the accident, and who may have information helpful to the investigation, t please call: (315) 724.7111.

New Hartford Police were assisted at the scene by the New Hartford Fire Department, Edwards Ambulance,  Kirkland Police, and the New York State Department of Transportation.
