PEMBROKE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a western New York deputy has fatally shot a man who pointed a gun at him in a restaurant parking lot.

WGRZ says the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Pembroke.

Genesee County Undersheriff Greg Walker says law enforcement had responded to a report of shots fired inside and outside the restaurant.
