FBI Launches New Weapon To Keep Kids Safe

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Law enforcement officials across the country have a new weapon to protect children...The Child ID App! The FBI launched the free mobile app to provide a convenient place to store electronic information about children to authorities in the event a child goes missing.

Officials say the Child ID App stores photos, physical identifiers such as height and weight, that authorities can immediately access. The App also offers parents tips on keeping children safe and information on steps to take immediately after a child goes missing. The Child ID App is only available for iPhone users however, the FBI plans to expand to other mobile devices.
