Former NY Ranger Hockey Player Arrested For Burglary In Sylvan Beach
A former NHL 'enforcer', Dale Purinton, was arrested this week by the Oneida County Sheriff's Office in connection with a burglary in the Sylvan Beach area.
The sheriff's office says the 38-year-old faces a felony-burglary charge in connection with an August 11, 2015 incident where he allegedly broke into a home and injured a resident.
Originally from British Columbia, Canada, Purinton had been living with relatives recently in Otsego County, the sheriff's office said.
The 6-foot-3 ex-pro hockey brawler spent time with the New York Rangers between 1999 and 2004, along with several seasons playing for the club's AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 Cash or $50,000.00 bond. Purinton is due back in court on a later date.
