Four people are recovering after a weekend accident in Sangerfield.

The accident occurred on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at about 1:00am.  17-Year old Taylor Columbel of Waterville, New York  allegedly lost control of the 2008 Subaru he was driving along Beaver Creek Road.  The car hit a tree on the driver's side.

Three passengers - 20-year old Brandon Ward of Brookfield, 24-year old Mary March of Waterville, and 39-year old Tyrone Davis of Utica - were able to climb out of the car.  Columbel, the driver,was pinned in the truck and had to be removed by emergency hydraulic equipment.

Everyone in the car was hospitalized with what were described as non life-threatening injuries.

Charges are pending completion of the investigation.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office, and its Forensic Identification Unit, was assisted on the scene by the Waterville and Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Companies.
