Fugitive Arrested In New Hartford

A Utica man who was wanted on drug charges in New Jersey has been arrested in New Hartford.

New Hartford Police were called to the Byrne Dairy on Campion Road for an intoxicated man causing a disturbance.

Police later found 39-year old Richard Roefaro walking along Campion Road. A nationwide file check showed Roefaro was wanted in New Jersey.

He was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin.

Roefaro was charged with being a fugitive from justice and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He's being held in the Oneida County jail without bail pending an extradition hearing.
