The FX Matt Brewing Company is collaborating with more than 1,000 other breweries to offer some aid to those affected by the recent Camp Fire in California.

''When we experienced a major fire at our own brewery back in 2008 other New York State Breweries came to our rescue and we’d like to pay that kindness forward,'' FX Matt Brewing Company President Fred Matt said in a news release.  “This is a very community oriented industry and we’ve all been more than happy to support one another during trying times throughout the years.“

Matt says they were invited to join the cause by Sierra Nevada to participate in the Resilience Butte Country Proud IPA Relief partnership and will be producing Resilience IPA to sell in the 1888 Tavern on Varick St. in downtown Utica. 100% of the profits from each pint sold will be given directly to the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund, the release said.

Resilience IPA is a West Coast Style IPA an homage to the state of California, in which Sierra Nevada is headquartered, officials said.

The California Camp Fire broke out on November 8, 2018, tearing through more than 150-thousand acres. The death toll from what is considered the most destructive in state history currently stands at 86.
