The 2024 WIBX Keeler Christmas Eve Extravaganza was held at Townsquare Media Studios on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, from 6 a.m. until 12 noon. The show, WIBX's biggest of the year, kicked off the holiday season for WIBX.

More than one hundred local and regional guests filtered into the studio throughout the morning including several bands and musicians. It's a Utica Thing Kitchen and Bar catered the event, and provided a parting gift for guests that included a jar of their It's A Utica Thing! Chicken Riggie and Marinara sauces, made at their restaurant in North Utica.

Guests in included local mayors, elected officials, calls to celebrities, bits and songs from the previous year, and just a great deal of holiday talent and cheer.

The show also kicked off WIBX's Centennial celebration which will continue throughout 2025. On December 5, 1925, WIBX signed on the air as the regions first radio station, and one of the oldest in America.

Throughout 2025, WIBX will celebrate the radio station's rich history and personalities who stayed here, and those who moved on to bigger markets and better jobs around the country. WIBX was on the air in Utica, Rome and the Mohawk Valley to report on iconic events in the nation's history. The radio station had only been operating for four years when the stock market crashed in 1929. Despite that financial hardship nationwide, the radio station continued to grow and eventually raised power to be able to cover Rome, the north country, and the Mohawk Valley. WIBX would continue to grow into the area's premiere news source to report on local and national events that included the attack on Pearl Harbor, V-Day, the assassination of President Kennedy, Watergate, the launch of the Iraq War, the 9-11 attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the Challenger Explosion, and so many epic moments in our history, both good and bad.
