Giving Tuesday: OpSun Benefits From Dinner Tonight at Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse in New Hartford will donate a portion of proceeds from sales this evening to Operation Sunshine - benefiting Mohawk Valley families in need.

Between 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., if you eat-in or take-out, part of the bill will be donated to the cause. However, you must say you're ''Dining for Dollars to benefit Operation Sunshine.''

Katie Giacovelli of the Utica OD and Operation Sunshine says the annual fundraising campaign is lagging and could use a boost.

''Our fundraising goal is $65,000. Right now we're at about $13,500,'' Giacovelli told the Keeler show last week. ''We do more than just toys, we do food and clothing with the agencies that we work with. And, all the money stays local. The O-D underwrites all overhead costs, so you give a dollar and it all goes right to the families,'' Giacovelli said.
