A missing hunter who was injured was able to be located with the of the GPS coordinates from his cellular device. The Oneida County Sheriff's Department assisted state officials in response to the missing hunter call in Boonville on Friday.

According to a release from the Sheriff's Department, the 63-year-old male made cellphone contact with a friend he was hunting with to let him know he had fallen, and was disoriented. Sergeant Matthew Bauer responded to the call, and was able to partner with County Emergency Services to locate the man based on GPS coordinates. He declined medical treatment after being evaluated by Boonville Ambulance, deputies said.
