Utica, NY (WIBX) - The owner of the Adirondack Bank Building is buying the building next door.

Tom Clark has purchased Genesee Street's Harza Building, officially vacant since 2004.

The clean windows outside are the first sign that the building has taken on a new owner, Clark says.

And from those windows is reflected the painting of the sun from across the street in nearby Liberty Park, symbolic perhaps of the dawn of a new era in Utica.

At a news conference Mayor Rob Palmieri added that it took a large number of people to put together the purchase. For months a team of city leaders has been putting the finishing touches on the deal.

Papers were signed today and, although some space may be used for the expansion of the Adirondack Bank, Clark says he's ready to start accepting calls from potential renters.
