The Herkimer Housing Authority was severely affected by last summer's flooding and is now getting some extra help.

To help offset rebuilding costs, National Grid is contributing $50,000 in flood recovery funding through their Emergency Economic Development Program.

National Grid's John Fiume says the company is a part of the community and is proud to help.

The Authority says it sustained over $700,000 of damage to their main offices on prospect Street, which include laundry, maintenance and community rooms used by residents.
