Oneida County home and business owners who suffered property damage in last summer's flooding now have the opportunity to apply for a property tax reassessment.

Under the 'Mohawk Valley and Niagara County Assessment Relief Act,' home and business owners can apply for a property tax reassessment if their 2013 assessed value did not reflect flood damage.

Oneida County unanimously chose to opt in to the program with the support of Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente who called it "Important tax relief for local property owners who suffered significant damage in last year's flooding.
