Holiday Travel Up This Year

Utica, NY (WIBX) - If you plan on hitting the road for the Christmas holiday, you'll have plenty of company.

Over 93 million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home.

AAA's Ed Welsh says that's a nearly two-percent increase over last year, despite record high gas prices.

Welsh says the average price in the Utica-Rome market is $3.76 a gallon, down about 15 cents over the past month.

That's about 20 cents a gallon more than this time last year.
