It was a battle of size versus speed and the outside shot at the Section III Class A final and in the end, size was the deciding factor.   The New Hartford boys basketball team's successful season came to a close on Sunday night with a 57-44 loss to a much bigger Bishop Ludden at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.

At halftime, New Hartford went into the locker room with the lead and momentum; but in the second half, Bishop Ludden adjusted their offense.  They began shoveling the ball into their bigger guys in the paint and that was the difference in the third and fourth quarters. Additionally New Hartford focused almost entirely on shots from 3-point range and was only 4 for 25 from outside in the second-half.

The Spartans end their season with an overall record of 17-4 and 7-1 in the league. Bishop Ludden will move onto the state tournament next week.
