About 150 local breast cancer survivors created a human pink ribbon at Murnane Field in Utica on Friday.

Nancy Butcher, Executive Director of the Cancer Program at Mohawk Valley Health System, says the event is part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Butcher says they wanted to bring the community together to make sure that everyone is aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and to make sure everybody follows good breast health.

Utica Mayor Rob Palmieri, Senator Joe Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi took part in today's event.
