The State Education Commissioner has set a date for the vote to merge the Ilion and Mohawk School Districts.

Residents will head to the polls on Thursday, February 12th.

The vote will determine whether the two districts should merge and, if they merge, how the board of education should be configured.

The two school districts decided to go ahead with merger plans after Herkimer School District residents voted down a plan in October.

The polls will be open from noon to 8:00.
