It’s National Work Zone Awareness Week

"Expect the Unexpected." That's the theme of National Work Zone Awareness Week, which kicked off today.

The New York State Thruway Authority, the DOT and State Police are reminding motorists to use extreme caution when driving through work zones to ensue the safety of both construction workers and motorists.

The New York State Thruway reported 117 work-zone related accidents last year, a slight decrease from 130 in 2013.
