Utica, NY (WIBX) - The James Street murder trial is in its 2nd day. The suspect, 30-year-old Marshall Jackson, a U.S. Army Veteran, is facing a 2nd Degree Murder charge. UPD Investigators say he fired the fatal shots that ended the life of 24-year-old Anthony Garner. In court today, a UPD Crime Scene Unit Investigator described evidence found on the victim and the suspect.

The shooting occurred last year, during the early morning hours of May 25th on James Street. Officials say the victim was celebrating his 24th birthday. In court today, prosecutors showed jurors a surveillance video, supposedly, showing Jackson and two unidentified subjects, chasing the victim. Prosecutors say the video also shows Jackson shooting Garner in the back, the left side of his body and his forehead. The trail is still underway in Oneida County Court.
