Justice Center’s Vulnerable Persons Central Register Hotline Receives More Than 7,000 Calls In Its First Month
The New York State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs has been open just over a month and, in that time, has received more than seven thousand calls, of which about three thousand have been classified as "significant incidents." About thirty of them involve allegations of criminal activity.
The call center was established by the Cuomo administration to help the disabled and persons with special needs against allegations of abuse and wrongdoing.
