The NBA's most valuable player for the 2013-2014 season is The Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant.

ESPN.com is reporting Durant won his first-ever MVP award with 119 first-place votes, beating out LeBron James (6 first-place votes), Blake Griffin, Joakim Noah and James Harden.

Durant led the NBA in scoring this season with an average of 32 points per game.

He becomes just the second player since Allen Iverson in 2001 to win both the league's scoring title and MVP in the same season.

The Thunder advanced to the second round of the NBA Playoffs last weekend with a Game 7 win over the Memphis Grizzlies where Durant scored a team-high 33 points.

Durant and the Thunder are currently down 0-1 in the second round series against the L.A. Clippers. Game two is Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. eastern time.
