UPDATE: Repairs have been completed. 

A water main break in New Hartford is affecting traffic and impacting customers in New Hartford, Clinton, Kirkland, and Whitestown.

A 12' water main has broken at the intersection of Commercial Drive and Route 5, in the vicinity of Jay-K Lumber and First Source Federal Credit Union. The Mohawk Valley Water Authority says the break will affect  "a large area including parts of New Hartford, Clinton (Toggle Town), Kirkland, Whitestown." Traffic in the area is significantly slowed.

Customers may experience discolored water, low pressure, or no water. In a message sent to customers, the water authority asked that time be allowed for repairs to be completed.

There are no boil water advisories in effect at this time.
