Albany, NY (WIBX) - If you want to vote in the September primaries and are not registered you have only one more day to do so.

Mail-in voter registration forms need to be postmarked by Friday, August 17, 2012, and received no later than August 24, 2012.

Voters are reminded that the primary takes place on Thursday, September 13th this year, not September 11th.

If you are uncertain of your voter status you can call your county board of elections (or the New York State Board of Elections at (518) 474.1953) or click here to look up your status. Registration forms may also be requested by calling 800-FOR-VOTE, although requests made by calling this number will not be received in time for primary eligibility.

For information on the voting machines that are being used in your area visit:                                  www.vote-ny.com.

The General Election will be held on November 6, 2012.  If you miss the primaries, the registration  deadline for the November elections is October 12, 2012.
