BOLTON LANDING, N.Y. (AP) — A woman has filed a lawsuit in state Supreme Court against an Adirondack resort, alleging the property's parent company withheld tips from workers.

The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports the lawsuit filed earlier this year by Evelyn O'Brien names Sagbolt LLC and its parent company, Ocean Properties Ltd. According to the suit, the Sagamore resort on Lake George in Bolton Landing began including a 20 percent "service charge" per customer at catering events in 2012 but failed to pay workers tips.

The suit claims the resort violated New York state labor law by retaining gratuities.

O'Brien had worked as a bartender and waitress when she filed the lawsuit. The Fort Ann woman's attorneys are seeking a class action suit.

Attorneys for Ocean Properties Ltd. said they had no comment on the case Tuesday.
