A teen who was allegedly driving while using his cellular telephone is recovering after a two-car crash in Lee.

An 18-year-old driver was hospitalized after he allegedly rear-ended a 71-year-old driver who was stopped, waiting to make a left turn from State Route 26 on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at approximately 8:30pm.

According to a written release from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, the driver of the vehicle that was hit, Gene Clark, was towing a 1995 Lund boat on a trailer.  The teen's 2006 Saturn hit Clark's vehicle and afterward complained of neck pain.  Clark and his passenger, Hassan Jones, were not injured.

The Lake Delta Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance assisted sheriff's deputies at the scene.

The 18-year-old was ticketed for driving while using a cellular telephone and for following too closely.
