Little Falls Tax Preparer Sentenced For Preparing False Tax Returns

The New York State District Attorney office is announcing the sentencing of a Little Falls man who prepared false tax returns for clients from 2007 to 2010.

58 year old James Butcher has been sentenced to one year in prison followed by one year of supervised release after admitting he prepared 40 false tax returns for 14 of his clients.

Butcher admitted to inflating deductions for his clients without their knowledge that resulted in more than $140,000 in extra tax return money.
