New York Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul was in the Utica-Rome area on Monday.

She attended a ceremony designating Route 49 from Utica to Rome as the Oneida County "Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway"

On her visit to the area, Hochul also toured Rome Lab with local officials.

In addition, Hochul addressed students and faculty at SUNY Poly about Governor Andrew Cuomo's Enough is Enough initiative to combat sexual assault on college campuses.  And she toured downtown Utica with Mayor Robert Palmieri to see downtown revitalization projects, including the Bite Bakery on Franklin Square.
