Maciol Endorses Picente In Re-Election Bid

Republican Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente has picked up the endorsement of Democratic Sheriff Rob Maciol in his re-election bid.

Maciol cited a strong working relationship with Picente and a series of accomplishments in choosing to step across the aisle and endorse Picente.

That includes establishing an Animal Abuser Registry and Opiate Task Force and placing special patrol officers in schools.

Picente said "Public safety has always been my top priority as County Executive and I couldn't ask for a better partner than Rob Maciol and I'm honored to have his endorsement."

Picente will face Democrat Michael Hennessy in the November election.
