Utica, NY (WIBX) - The suspect accused of starting a fire at the Olbiston Apartments in Utica last year, faced a six-count indictment in Oneida County Court yesterday. Officials say the arson followed a shooting incident hours earlier and 26-year-old Aaron McClain of Rome stands accused of both crimes. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. He's facing 2nd degree Arson, two counts of Reckless Endangerment, attempted 2nd degree Murder and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon for the September 17 incident.

McClain is accused of started the fire inside the first-floor freight elevator. Officials say another man, 36-year-old Robert Getty is also facing Arson charges for his role in starting the fire. 300 residents had to be evacuated.
