Man Arrested, Charged With DWI After Slow Drive On Genesee St.

Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Utica man is facing multiple traffic violations, including two DWI charges, following an early morning drive down Genesee Street. Utica police say, 23-year-old Jarell Edwards was driving at a speed of about 5 mph when officers attempted to pull him over. After eventually coming to a stop, police say the man backed up, and struck the officer's patrol vehicle. Officials determined that the driver and occupants were intoxicated. They told police they just left a local bar.

Edwards was arrested and taken to the county lock-up. He had a BAC of .16 percent. He was ticketed for nine traffic violations and charged with 2 counts of DWI.
