Man Charged With DWI After Being Found Asleep At The Wheel

A Westmoreland man is facing a felony DWI charge after allegedly being found asleep at the wheel of his vehicle at the intersection of Dix Road and Lawrence Street in Westmoreland

State Police say a Westmoreland DPW truck operator came upon the vehicle blocking the roadway and called police.

Police say attempts to wake up 23-year old Ryan Bowers were unsuccessful and 911 was con\ntacted.

Troopers say Bowers eventually awoke and tried to leave the scene when he drove in to a snowbank, causing his vehicle to become disabled.

Bowers is also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
