The Masonic Care Community in Utica is celebrating 125 years.

The Masonic Home opened the doors to its first residents on May 1st, 1893.

Executive Director Robert Raffle says the Masonic Care Community started out as a facility for Masons, their wives, widows and orphans.

Today, the Masonic Care Community offers Independent Living at Acacia Village, Adult Residential care at Wiley Hall, In-patient rehabilitation, Child Care and Home Care Services.

A community celebration will be held on the Masonic Care Community Campus on Bleecker Street on Saturday, May 19th starting at 4:30.

It will feature live music, food trucks, the Utica Zoo Mobile and fireworks.
