If you were hoping that a new month would bring new and better weather, there is some bad news.

A major storm along the East Coast is set to bring some below-average temperatures and a chance of snow, albeit light, to parts of New York.

Looking ahead to the first couple of days of May, the storm along the East Coast is bringing the chill through the middle of the week.

Along with that cold weather will be plenty of precipitation and when the weather cools there is a chance of snow falling across the area.

The good news is that if any snow does fall it shouldn't stick around too long as the weather will warm up enough to turn much of the precipitation into rain and they will wash away any flakes.

The Old Farmer's Alamaca is calling for a bit of a warm-up the 2nd week of May and we could end up seeing temperatures return to normal or even be slightly above average.

Hopefully, this will be the last time we have to use the dreaded "S" word until next Winter.
