A $125,000 state grant has been awarded to the Mid-York Library System in Utica.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says the funding comes from the State and Municipal Facilities Grant Program.

Brindisi says the money will be used to replace the roof at Mid-York's headquarters

The project began in June and is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

“Library services are more essential to community members than ever, but in many cases, the buildings they are in are aging, and need renovations.  Providing the funding to renovate Mid-York’s headquarters will allow it to continue to house its valuable collections and programs and accommodate visitors safely for many years to come,” said Brindisi.
