MVCC Recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month

The exterior lights at the Utica Mohawk Valley Community College's Payne Hall will be tinted purple this month in support of the "Shine the Light on Domestic Violence" campaign.

The lighting begins tonight at sundown.

MVCC will host Melissa Loiacano as presenter of "The Silent Witness Project," a traveling memorial to victims of domestic violence on October 29th.

The Healthy Lifestyles Workgroup will educate attenders on the impacts of domestic violence in our community.

Located in Payne Hall, the exhibit will also be selling Domestic Violence Awareness carnations, wristbands, and ribbons, with proceeds benefiting the Mohawk Valley YWCA.
