Mohawk Valley Health System will be looking for a new CEO.

Hospital officials have announced that current President and CEO Scott Perra will be retiring 18 months from now, on June 30th, 2019.

Perra joined St. Luke's-Hospital in 1985, becoming the executive vice president/chief operating officer in 1989

He was appointed president of Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare in January 2009.

Perra was named President and CEO of the newly formed Mohawk Valley Health System when Faxton-St. Luke's and St. Elizabeth Medical Center affiliated in March of 2014.

"We are grateful to have Scott’s vision, leadership and commitment, always working to move our health system to a new level of excellence,” stated Joan Compson, chair of the MVHS Board of Directors. “The opportunity to build a new regional healthcare system for our community was Scott’s vision as well as the boards’ and we are grateful for all he is doing to help make that vision into a reality. We believe finding a new CEO for the system will take some time and we appreciate that we can continue to work with Scott in the months ahead.”

The MVHS Board of Directors has formed a search committee to look for Perra's successor.
