A New Hartford man is facing multiple charges after a domestic incident.

New Hartford police say when they responded to the report they found 28 year old Samuel Decarolis bloody and out of control.

Decarolis allegedly destroyed property in the home, broke windows, and caused numerous wounds to himself while endangering the welfare of 9 children under the age of 9.

During the investigation, police discovered Decarolis had given one of the children a prescription type pill and an alcoholic beverage.

Police say he also used a knife to stab a couch next to next to one of the victims and a child, then flipped the couch over with both the victim and the child still on the couch before throwing objects at the children, hitting one of them in the eye.

Decarolis was charged with Criminal Mischief, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Menacing, Assault, and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child.

He was arraigned in the Town of New Hartford Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail without bail.
