New Hartford Police have taken into 'custody' an unlikely suspect. After a short foot pursuit, the 'pup' was captured.

According to police, Officer Allen spotted the small dog running down Alexandria Road towards Seneca Turnpike.

Officer Allen then exited his vehicle and called the scared little pup over. The dog jumped into the squad car and began howling.

The 'suspect' was taken to the New Hartford Police Station and has since been transported to Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
