New Snowmobile Trail Crossing For Route 8 In Deerfield

Deerfield, NY (WIBX) - It may still be summer, but here's some good news for Oneida County snowmobilers.

Governor Cuomo has signed legislation that will create a new trail crossing along Route 8 in Deerfield.

The new law allows a portion of the highway right-of-way to be designated for use by snowmobilers.

The legislation was sponsored by Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi.

Brindisi says providing a safe trail system will help the many businesses located near Route 8 and will enhance the region's reputation as one of the best areas for snowmobiling in the Northeast.
