Just in case you thought you weren't quite ready for summer yet, by Monday morning you may 100% be thinking about all of the things we love summer in Central New York. More snow may be coming this weekend. (UGH!)

According to the National Weather Service, a major winter storm may be moving up the East Coast this weekend and drop heavy snow in Upstate New York, particularly in the eastern half of the state.

Several inches of snow could fall across Upstate New York into Monday morning. The best chance for heavy snow will be east of the I-81 corridor, especially over the Poconos and Catskills where several inches of snow could fall.

Despite this, meteorologists have reported that the distinct path of the storm has yet to be determined, and any deviations can make a large difference in how much snow will fall, and where.

A cold, northwest flow will continue for much of the long term period as a deep trough remains fixed over the northeast. The end result will be temperatures much colder than normal. Daily highs will be in the 20s with overnight lows in the single digits or teens. The models indicate a chance for snow showers each day, especially downwind of Lake Ontario. A cold front moving through NY and PA midweek will enhance snow shower potential and bring a reinforcing shot of cold air to our region.
