NY State Police Announce New Troop D Commander

New York State Police Troop D in Marcy has a new commanding officer.

Major Francis Coots has been promoted to the post after serving as Captain and Zone 1 Commander in Marcy since 2005.

Coots' command now covers 7 counties in Upstate New York including Herkimer, Oneida, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego Counties.

He began his career as a Trooper in 1983.
